DIRTBOUND SBT GRVL TEAM 2024
Rachel Zoeller
(they / she)
Rachel (they/she) is an adaptive athlete who is driven by movement. Raised in Kentucky, they have lived all over the United States and came to Colorado in 2021 to pursue adaptive sports (off-road cycling, climbing, skiing). When Rachel isn’t outdoors you can find them on the yoga mat, advocating for accessibility, or reading a good book.
Jeremy Raeszler
(he/him)
I'm Jeremy Raeszler, a para-cyclist with a T12 Incomplete SCI. On February 24, 2008, during a motocross race in Sandy Valley, CA, I lost control on a jump and as I tried to correct my mistake I lost focus. This loss of focus ultimately caused me to land in an awkward position on the motorcycle, compressing my spine and severing my spinal cord. Throughout my journey towards recovery I've discovered the beauty of cycling and the vital role perseverance, grit, and determination play in our lives. There's a unique satisfaction in achieving difficult goals.
Melissa Childers
(she/her)
My name is Melissa Childers, I’m 45 years old and I live in Kansas City, MO. I am a T-12 paraplegic as of January 2021 due to a spinal stroke. Before the SCI I was an avid runner, hiker, backpacker and lover of all things outdoors. I rode my first hand cycle in September 2021 and I was hooked. In the last 3 years I have been biking, bi-skiing, adaptive climbing, kayaking and more. I love (and these are in no particular order) music, my Nuke hand cycle, my mini Aussie, Rusty, and the Kansas City Chiefs. I can’t wait to participate in my first SBT GRVL race.
Gabby Sinotte
(she/her)
Born without her left hand, Gabby has never let this stop her from living her life to the fullest. She grew up in New Hampshire casually riding bikes with her family. It wasn’t until her mid 20s that she really went “full send” into bikes when she made herself a biking prosthesis. She is a Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist by day and avid adventurer by night/weekend. When not gravel biking, she can be found spending time riding her other bikes, skiing, hiking, and playing ultimate frisbee. This will be Gabby’s first time riding the SBT GRVL race and she has some mixed feelings: On one hand, she’s wicked stoked, and on the other hand… there isn’t one.
Erica Smith
(she/her)
Erica Smith is a graphic designer living in the Denver area. Originally from Lawrence, KS, Erica was in a motor vehicle accident when she was 17 that left her a T6 complete paraplegic. Erica is fairly new to the adaptive bike scene but is stoked to compete in her first race, raise awareness about adaptive athletes and help build community.
Brian Cone
(he/him)
I am an athlete. I’ve always been an athlete. I’ll always be an athlete. I am a partner. I’m a dad. I am a friend. I am an engineer. I’ve always been these things, and always will be, regardless of my injury and without asterisk.
